Legal experience:
Alessandro Tomassetti graduated with a degree in law in 1993 from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, in which he specialized in criminal procedure and comparative law. Following his degree he continued to be involved with the University as a Professor, and taught two post-graduate courses at the Department of Criminal Anthropology on the subject of comparative criminal procedure, with particular reference to the differences between Italy and the common law systems of the United Kingdom and the United States.
He has been practising as a lawyer in Rome since 1992, specializing in the area of criminal law, including offences against the person and property, corporate crime, criminal liability concerning members of the medical profession, and offences relating to the media and the press.
He also deals with international criminal law and has represented clients in other European Countries, in Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and China.
Since 2003 he has developed a particular interest in the field of environmental law and related criminal offences, and his clients have included a multinational United States company with industrial bases in Italy.
